"Know when to hold it, know when to run"


This was a very interesting article on the use of restrooms by students. I observed a similar situation as talked about in this article. Last semester I was a J.P. in a 5th grade class in which the teacher would only give the students two bathroom breaks per day, however he would only allow three students at most to go to the restroom. If they did not return after a reasonable amount of time he would go to the restroom door and call them out. I understand that mischief does occur in some school restrooms, however I do not believe that limiting the number of times or praising students for not using the restroom is the answer. They should have some type of security or something to try to fix it.
